Mark Your Calendars! September Edition
5:00 PMTo my fellow
Canadians, are you ready to mark your calendars? Here are some upcoming
bookish events to look forward to in September!
Sarah Dessen
Sarah Dessen, the New York Times bestselling author of such novels as The Truth About Forever, Along for the Ride and What Happened to Goodbye, will be coming to Canada to give a talk and sign books!
- Wednesday, September 21 at 7:00 p.m. ~ Indigo Toronto Eaton's Centre: 220 Yonge Street East, Toronto, ON. Dana Krook from Fave Magazine will also be interviewing her!
- Thursday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m. ~ North York Central Library: 5120 Yonge Street, Toronto, ON.
Also, Laura from The Zealous Reader wants to organize a meet-up with some fellow book bloggers who will be at WOTS Toronto. If you're attending the event, please get in touch with her by email at the.zealous.reader(at)gmail(dot)com or tweet her on Twitter. She should also have more details on her blog soon!
Susan Juby
- Monday, September 26 at 7:00 p.m. ~ Indigo South Edmonton: 1837 99th Street N.W., Edmonton, AB.
Cinda Williams Chima, the New York Times bestselling author of The Seven Realms series, will be promoting her latest novel The Gray Wolf Throne in British Columbia.

Here's a quick look at a couple bookish events to look forward to in early October, which I'll be mentioning again in next month's edition:
- The Smart Chicks Kick It! Tour will be stopping by in Vancouver on October 1 at Chapters Burnaby... and in Ottawa on October 3 at Nepean Centrepointe, a branch of the Ottawa Public Library. To see the authors in attendance at each event and learn exact times along with directions, you can see the schedule on the Smart Chicks Kick It! website.
- Rick Riordan will be promoting the latest novel in his New York Times bestselling The Heroes of Olympus series, The Son of Neptune, at Indigo Yorkdale on October 6 in Toronto.

I've been looking forward to Sarah Dessen's visit to Toronto for months now! I'll most likely be attending her event at Indigo Eaton's Centre! And depending on how busy I am for school, I'm going to try checking out WOTS Toronto because I've never been, although I've always wanted to...
Will you be attending any of these events this month?

I've been wanting to go to Word on the Street FOREVER! I plan to be at my local WOTS this year in Kitchener. Finally! I'm so excited.
ReplyDeleteI would have gone to the Sarah Dessen signing if there was one in Brampton. Toronto is just too far away to drag my husband to. Have fun!
Aww! so many events for Canadians!! :D
ReplyDeleteThey all sound so awesome
I totally want to see Sarah Dessen. I have Friday off initially, but now I don't so I can't make it to the events and I hear she is amazing to meet. I hope you have a ton of fun at her signing!
ReplyDeleteAnd I will be at WOTS - I've planned for this since I heard about it and missed it last year. :) Hopefully I will see you there and get to meet up with a bunch of other bloggers too!
I love this feature of your blog so thank you so much for putting it together!
Yay, I'm definitely going to see Sarah Dessen at Yorkdale so it'll be nice to see you there too. I'm also hoping to go to WOTS if I end up with no midterms that week.
ReplyDeleteYay, lots of awesome events going on in the next couple months! I might actually get to attend WOTS Toronto, we'll see. If so a book blogger meet-up sounds like a lot of fun! :D
ReplyDeleteErika- That's too bad about the Sarah Dessen event, but glad to hear you'll be able to attend WOTS Kitchener! I hope you have fun that day!
ReplyDeleteAlex- It's fun to see some authors come to Canada!
Chrystal- Thanks! I'm hoping I'm not too busy for school then, but I've been waiting for this event for so long, I'd be so upset if I missed it! And I'm *hoping* I can go to WOTS too.
Zahida- I'm hoping that was a quick typo, but just in case... Sarah Dessen will be at Eaton's Centre and not Yorkdale, although I kind of wished she were there instead of so downtown...
Danya- You came to Ontario at just the right time!! :)
I can't wait to hear all about the Sarah Dessen event. I just wish that I'll be able to meet her one day too. I'm really looking forward to next month in Vancouver. The Smart Chicks event is the biggest YA author event to happen here for quite some time so there's no way that I'm going to miss it.
ReplyDeleteand they never come to Montreal... sniff =(
ReplyDeleteI hope one day any of my favorite author come to this place T____T.... sniff!!!
