Spotted! Cover of Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins
9:00 AMRachel Hawkins revealed the cover of Demonglass, the second novel in the Hex Hall series, on her blog yesterday!
Release Date: March 1, 2011
Publisher: Hyperion
Summary (from Goodreads):
** This summary contains spoilers if you haven't read the first novel in the series, Hex Hall, yet!!*
Sophie Mercer thought she was a witch.
That was the whole reason she was sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for delinquent Prodigium (aka witches, shapeshifters, and fairies). But that was before she discovered the family secret, and that her hot crush, Archer Cross, is an agent for The Eye, a group bent on wiping Prodigium off the face of the earth.
Turns out, Sophie’s a demon, one of only two in the world—the other being her father. What’s worse, she has powers that threaten the lives of everyone she loves. Which is precisely why Sophie decides she must go to London for the Removal, a dangerous procedure that will destroy her powers.
But once Sophie arrives she makes a shocking discovery. Her new friends? They’re demons too. Meaning someone is raising them in secret with creepy plans to use their powers, and probably not for good. Meanwhile, The Eye is set on hunting Sophie down, and they’re using Acher to do it. But it’s not like she has feelings for him anymore. Does she?
I am most definitely excited to find out what's going to happen next in Demonglass! Hex Hall could be light and funny at times, and then the next, serious and totally taking me by surprise, which just another reason why can't wait to see how Sophie will deal with her latest conflicts! Plus, Hex Hall is one of my fave novels by a debut author of 2010!
I like how they've kept the reflection theme for the cover once again, and they've even added some edginess to it with the flames and losing the school uniform in favour of some London-style clothes! And the model is totally wearing a jacket I would love to have... but the white dress is pretty as well!
Are you excited for Demonglass? Any thoughts on the cover?

ReplyDeleteHex Hall was a fun read! I love the flames in this one too, and the pretty white dress...but what is up with the cat? It was on the first cover too and I don't recall there *being* a cat in the book...*puzzles*
ReplyDeleteI was going to say the same thing about the cat, there was no cat in the first book. Anyways its great that they stuck with the same cover theme so that the books match.
ReplyDeleteThe cover is awesome!! :D *sigh* I'm so excited for it!!!
