Book Trailer! - Enclave by Ann Aguirre

12:00 PM

I think the book trailer for Enclave by Ann Aguirre, the first novel in a new dystopian series, was released awhile ago but I just watched it today and thought I'd share it! It makes me sort of regret picking up a copy of the novel when I saw it in stores the other day...

Release Date: April 12, 2011
Publisher: Feiwel & Friends

Summary:
New York City has been decimated by war and plague, and most of civilization has migrated to underground enclaves, where life expectancy is no more than the early 20’s. When Deuce turns 15, she takes on her role as a Huntress, and is paired with Fade, a teenage Hunter who lived Topside as a young boy. When she and Fade discover that the neighboring enclave has been decimated by the tunnel monsters—or Freaks—who seem to be growing more organized, the elders refuse to listen to warnings. And when Deuce and Fade are exiled from the enclave, the girl born in darkness must survive in daylight, in the ruins of a city whose population has dwindled to a few dangerous gangs. As the two are guided by Fade’s long-ago memories, they face dangers, and feelings, unlike any they’ve ever known.

Right now, I think it's my feelings about the cover that are stopping from getting this book. I know, I know... you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover but I'm only human. Anyways, with a great book trailer like this one and an interesting plot description, I may just have to take a closer look. Plus, it helps that most of the reviews I've read for this novel seem to be positive!

  4. I read this book and I loved it. I couldn't let it go. I was also a bit worried when I saw the cover and got the book only because my copy said "for the fans of the Hunger Game". It's not all that similar to the Hunger Games but it does have that same feeling to it. In short, Its about a strong girl who faces dangers in a strange and horrible future along side a boy who brings her new feelings. I would personally give this book two thumbs up.
