Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine spotlighting upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating.
Release Date: September 18, 2012
Publisher: Balzer + Bray
Summary (from Goodreads):
And their doom comes swiftly.
It was supposed to be the weekend of their lives—an exclusive house party on Henry Island. Best friends Meg and Minnie each have their reasons for being there (which involve T.J., the school’s most eligible bachelor) and look forward to three glorious days of boys, booze and fun-filled luxury.
But what they expect is definitely not what they get, and what starts out as fun turns dark and twisted after the discovery of a DVD with a sinister message: Vengeance is mine.
Suddenly people are dying, and with a storm raging, the teens are cut off the from the outside world. No electricity, no phones, no internet, and a ferry that isn’t scheduled to return for two days. As the deaths become more violent and the teens turn on each other, can Meg find the killer before more people die? Or is the killer closer to her than she could ever imagine?
Gretchen McNeil's upcoming novel Ten sounds like the perfect novel to leave you on edge and suspecting all the characters of being at fault. With horror and suspense interwoven in the plot, Ten is one of those books which already stands apart from other YA novels with its fresh concept. And to top it off, the book's awesome cover matches the dark atmosphere exactly! I can't wait to read this book!

Yes! So excited for this one. Actually, maybe excited isn't exactly the right word. Maybe a bit scared, heh.
ReplyDeleteThank you SO MUCH for including TEN in your WoW picks! Totally made my day. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds great! When I read the summary I immediately thought of the board game Clue, which I played a lot of when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteohhh sounds mysterious and great! like a 'harpers island' type deal.

Sounds cool, although the concept sounds almost exactly like And Then There Were None, by Agatha Christie about ten murders on an island after a fancy party. Hoping that's what she based it off of cause, if so, I'll be sure to check it out.
ReplyDeleteIn the HarperCollins catalog, the description for TEN ends saying that it *was* inspired by that novel you mentioned... so I hope that helps make you want to read the book more! :)
DeleteFor sure! I was just reading the description and noticed how similar it is! I do love a good thriller, so I'll look into this one!
DeleteThis sounds like the plot for a scary movie or show. I'm definitely inclined to read it since I hate scary movies lol. Looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteOh, I've seen Ten around, it does sound pretty cool though darker than I usually go for.
ReplyDeleteI just heard about this one this past week and it sounds so good! Great pick!
ReplyDeleteWow great book, nice review. I wanna have some, I wish! But our house is quite far from a bookstore.
