Summary:
I’m the daughter of murdered parents.
I’m the friend of a dead girl.
I’m the lover of my enemy.
And I will have my revenge.

In the wake of the devastating destruction of the luxury yacht Persephone, just three souls remain to tell its story—and two of them are lying. Only Frances Mace knows the terrifying truth, and she’ll stop at nothing to avenge the murders of everyone she held dear. Even if it means taking down the boy she loves and possibly losing herself in the process.

Sharp and incisive, Daughter of Deep Silence by bestselling author Carrie Ryan is a deliciously smart revenge thriller that examines perceptions of identity, love, and the lengths to which one girl is willing to go when she thinks she has nothing to lose.

My Thoughts:
Four years ago, Frances Mace survived days adrift at sea with her dying friend Libby while Senator Wells and his son, Grey, told the world that the luxury yacht Persephone was struck by a rogue wave, killing everyone on board. But Frances knows the truth of what really happened that terrifying night—the Persephone was attacked by armed men. Since then, orphaned Frances has assumed Libby's identity and sworn vengeance for everything she has lost.

Now, after years of careful plotting as she hid away from the storm of media attention in the aftermath of the tragedy, Frances is finally ready to set her plans into motion. When her world fell apart, revenge was the only thought that kept her focused and moving forward instead of sinking into despair and depression. But nothing could prepare her for the emotions that arise when she faces Grey Wells again, the boy she once loved before he broke her trust.

Despite her better judgement and efforts to remain detached, she finds herself falling for Grey all over again, even though he believes her to be Libby. He's still just as warm and caring as she remembers, albeit more wary. She'll never forget the attention he gave to her when she felt so ordinary and unremarkable in comparison to vibrant Libby. The old Frances was a normal teen girl from the Midwest. As Libby, she's become a polished and wealthy society girl.

But Frances doesn't really know who she is anymore. The girl she used to be died in the ocean, but she still hasn't comfortably accepted becoming Libby either, despite the necessity and protection her family's name offers. Screams, gunshots, and crashing waves consume her nightmares as the past haunts her. Frances can only cling to the belief that Senator Wells and Gray hold the answers she seeks and will do whatever she must to uncover the deadly secrets they are hiding.

Delving into deeper psychological themes such as identity and grief, Carrie Ryan's Daughter of Deep Silence is more than just an addictive revenge thriller. As Frances continues her path of deception and revenge, she begins to realize that all her calculated plans still don't fully prepare her for confronting the past and the dangers that still lurk in its dark depths. If you're a fan of the TV show Revenge, then I definitely think you'll be loving Daughter of Deep Silence! Who doesn't love an irresistible revenge story with a touch of romance and suspense?
