A missing girl on a journey of revenge and a Serial―like podcast following the clues she's left behind.

Sadie hasn't had an easy life. Growing up on her own, she's been raising her sister Mattie in an isolated small town, trying her best to provide a normal life and keep their heads above water.

But when Mattie is found dead, Sadie's entire world crumbles. After a somewhat botched police investigation, Sadie is determined to bring her sister's killer to justice and hits the road following a few meager clues to find him.

When West McCray―a radio personality working on a segment about small, forgotten towns in America―overhears Sadie's story at a local gas station, he becomes obsessed with finding the missing girl. He starts his own podcast as he tracks Sadie's journey, trying to figure out what happened, hoping to find her before it's too late.

Courtney Summers has written the breakout book of her career. Sadie is propulsive and harrowing and will keep you riveted until the last page.

The sheriff's son, Kellan Turner, is not the golden boy everyone thinks he is, and Romy Grey knows that for a fact. Because no one wants to believe a girl from the wrong side of town, the truth about him has cost her everything--friends, family, and her community. Branded a liar and bullied relentlessly by a group of kids she used to hang out with, Romy's only refuge is the diner where she works outside of town. No one knows her name or her past there; she can finally be anonymous. But when a girl with ties to both Romy and Kellan goes missing after a party, and news of him assaulting another girl in a town close by gets out, Romy must decide whether she wants to fight or carry the burden of knowing more girls could get hurt if she doesn't speak up. Nobody believed her the first time--and they certainly won't now--but the cost of her silence might be more than she can bear.?

With a shocking conclusion and writing that will absolutely knock you out, Courtney Summers' new novel All the Rage examines the shame and silence inflicted upon young women in a culture that refuses to protect them.

While All the Rage is a fictional contemporary novel, it is heartbreaking to know that there are women just like Romy who suffer in silence without the justice they deserve. I find it utterly terrifying and horrifying to know someone can rip away my agency and make me feel powerless, that sexual assault is still a crime that offenders never truly face punishment. Rape has become synonymous with terms like shame and silence when it shouldn't, and this is something we must find a way to change in the future.

Courtney Summers has written a powerful, unflinching novel that adds to a much needed discussion about rape culture and its consequences. All the Rage is an emotionally-charged book that explores difficult subject matter and makes no promises of consolation or assurance. Romy's story will surely hit you with all the feels and resonate with readers long after finishing the novel.

It’s the end of the world. Six students have taken cover in Cortege High but shelter is little comfort when the dead outside won’t stop pounding on the doors. One bite is all it takes to kill a person and bring them back as a monstrous version of their former self.

To Sloane Price, that doesn’t sound so bad. Six months ago, her world collapsed and since then, she’s failed to find a reason to keep going. Now seems like the perfect time to give up. As Sloane eagerly waits for the barricades to fall, she’s forced to witness the apocalypse through the eyes of five people who actually want to live.

But as the days crawl by, the motivations for survival change in startling ways and soon the group’s fate is determined less and less by what’s happening outside and more and more by the unpredictable and violent bids for life—and death—inside.

When everything is gone, what do you hold on to?

Thanks to Raincoast Books, I was also able to ask Courtney Summers a few questions about This Is Not A Test and her other novels! Without further ado, here's my Q&A with the Canadian author:

1) Who was your favourite character to write about in This Is Not A Test?

2) Your previous novels, Cracked Up to Be, Some Girls Are and Fall For Anything, have all been within the contemporary YA genre. What inspired you to write about an impending zombie apocalypse this time around?

Not really! I've been trying to think if there's one, but most of my deleted scenes are deleted for a reason--they are disasters I can't in good conscience inflict on people. There were two other characters--Sabrina and Will--that didn't make it into the final version. I gave all of Sabrina's character traits to Grace and some of Will's to Harrison. I'm glad they stayed out of it though. They slowed down the book.

4) I'm always anticipating what kind of pain you'll rain down on your characters in a completely heart-wrenching scene. Was there ever a time when you were writing a particularly difficult scene in one of your novels that just had to walk away from it for awhile?
